A BIT ABOUT US

On February 24, 2020, we opened our doors to kids and youth of La Florida, a large community that forms what is known as Zone 19 of Guatemala City. God has nudged us out of the comfort in which most churches of this community live, focusing mainly on those who are members and ignoring the community that surrounds them. As members of the Church, our eyes have been opened to those around us and we decided that the Church can no longer remain indifferent to the groans of this community.

WHO WE ARE

We are eager to serve our community and aim to be the hands and feet of Jesus to the kids and youth of La Florida. We are working in association with Iglesia Hebrón, a small church in this large community.

Hebrón had been welcoming children from La Florida into Sunday services and VBS programs and developed a strong relationship with them. This relationship has revealed how much they struggle with school and we have since felt called by God to be part of their daily lives.

We believe this community has the potential to flourish ("florecer" in Spanish) and be transformed by God's sovereign and ongoing redemptive work.

WHAT WE DO

Our vision is to contribute to the school and vocational developments of the people in La Florida. We seek to provide tools and spaces for academic and spiritual companionship, exploration, and growth.
To this end, we have two main programs at the moment: school reinforcement and youth ministry activities.
